A 56-year-old fishing boat owner was injured while trying to put out a fire on his own vessel in Miri. The boat, about 60 feet long and 14 feet wide, was already fully on fire. The owner, Ting Tiew Hing, suffered light burns on his right cheek and right arm while trying to fight the fire before firefighters arrived. His family later took him to hospital. A 69-year-old retiree in Miri lost RM367,000 after joining an online investment scheme that promised fast returns. A foreign man suspected of installing ATM skimming devices in Brunei was arrested at Miri Airport. PETROS is producing oil onshore in Sarawak again after a 50-year break. Piling work at a Tudan construction site in Miri was stopped after a flammable gas leak was detected. A massive fire tore through a 21-door longhouse in Bekenu in the early hours of this morning, leaving 136 residents without a home.
