Malaysians will soon be able to apply for a passport that lasts 10 years instead of the current 5 — and it will cost RM350.

The new 10-year Malaysian passport was officially gazetted on June 3 under the Fees (Passports and Visas) (Amendment) Order 2026. Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban confirmed the change is coming this year, adding that the current 5-year option will remain available.
