Editorial & Corrections Policy

KuchingHub publishes local news, guides and community information for readers in Kuching and Sarawak. This policy explains the standards that apply to content published under the KuchingHub name.

Accuracy and verification

We aim to publish information that is accurate, clear and supported by reliable sources. Important names, dates, locations, figures and quotations are checked before publication whenever reasonably possible. Information that cannot be independently confirmed will be identified with appropriate context.

Headlines and images should fairly represent the content of an article. News reports should distinguish confirmed facts from allegations, opinions and developing information.

Sources and attribution

We use official documents, public records, direct statements, established news organisations and other credible sources according to the subject. Source links or acknowledgements are provided where they help readers verify important information. Quotations and third-party material are attributed to their original source.

Confidential sources may be protected when there is a legitimate public-interest reason, subject to appropriate editorial review.

Fairness, privacy and safety

We seek comment from people or organisations facing serious allegations when practical and allow relevant responses to be reflected fairly. We avoid unnecessary intrusion into private life and take particular care with children, victims, medical information, grief, crime and public-safety incidents.

We may withhold names, identifying details or images where publication could create disproportionate harm or where there is no sufficient public-interest reason to disclose them.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners. Advertising, sponsored material, affiliate links and other paid relationships will be identified where relevant. Payment or commercial support does not guarantee favourable coverage.

Opinions and community content

Opinion, commentary and user-submitted content should be clearly distinguishable from factual reporting. Views expressed by community members belong to their respective authors and do not necessarily represent KuchingHub. Community contributions remain subject to our Terms & Community Guidelines.

Corrections and updates

When a material factual error is confirmed, we will correct it as soon as reasonably possible. Significant corrections may include a note explaining what was changed. Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or link repairs may be made without a separate notice when they do not alter the meaning of the article.

Developing stories may be updated as new verified information becomes available. An update does not necessarily mean the earlier report was inaccurate.

Copyright and image use

We respect copyright and aim to identify image and information sources where appropriate. If you believe material on KuchingHub infringes your rights or carries an incorrect credit, please contact us with the exact URL and relevant supporting details.

仍在发展的新闻会在获得新的可靠资料后更新。文章出现更新，并不一定表示较早内容有误。
