Former soldier Umar Sidee, 66, dashed into a blazing two-storey house in Sibu to rescue eight grandchildren and his son — a split-second decision that saved nine lives. The fire tore through Kampung Jeriah Abang Ramli along Jalan Oya Lama around 11am on Sunday (June 7). Umar and his wife were at a nearby orchard when they heard explosions from the house. TBH, Kuching has changed so much over the past few years. And one of the biggest additions? The Borneo Cultures Museum — opened in 2022 and instantly became the largest museum in Malaysia and the second largest in Southeast Asia I've driven past it countless times but finally spent an entire afternoon exploring it properly. And honestly? Way better than I expected. Sarawak is spending RM4.53 billion on 76 school construction and upgrade projects across the state — with 25 currently under construction and 27 already completed.
