Sarawak’s affordable-housing update sets a 1,410-unit target under the 13th Malaysia Plan, but the nearer completion milestone concerns 402 homes already under construction. Those 402 units are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2027. Of that group, 157 are to receive solar-energy systems, with the State government bearing half the installation cost, according to the Oct 21 DayakDaily report of the legislative assembly winding-up speech. Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development Datuk Amar Awang Tengah said the Land Custody and Development Authority’s broader 1,410-unit programme carried an estimated construction cost of RM524.9 million. Budget 2027 approved RM213.35 million for the projects. The total estimate and that budget allocation are different figures, not two additional housing programmes. He put the cost of providing a home under the Village Expansion Scheme and Resettlement Scheme at RM350,000 to RM435,000, against a selling price of RM150,000. A land premium of RM2,500 per lot was also cited. Solar installation for the 157 homes was valued at RM4.553 million in total; the 50 per cent State contribution refers to installation, not half the purchase price of a house. For prospective buyers, this is a programme-and-construction update rather than an announcement that all 1,410 homes are ready. It does not set out individual project locations, application dates or eligibility requirements.

A 200MWac solar facility planned for Tinjar, Sarawak, is targeted to begin commercial operations by the end of 2029 under a proposed RM570 million development. Reservoir Link Energy Bhd said it has signed a power purchase agreement with Syarikat Sesco Bhd to design, build, own, operate and maintain the photovoltaic facility. The agreement was disclosed in a filing reported on Friday. The project is not yet the same as electricity already being generated. The agreement still depends on corporate and government authorisations, required studies, licences, security arrangements, testing and commissioning requirements. If the conditions are met and the agreement is not extended or ended earlier, the PPA will run for 30 years from the facility’s commercial operation date. RLEB has set Dec 31, 2029 as the target date, but the filing leaves room for the timetable to change as approvals and construction progress are completed. For Sarawak’s energy picture, the key figures are the proposed 200MWac capacity and the RM570 million estimated development cost — not a claim that the plant is already operating.
