Man Dies After Tree Branch Falls In Sibu Orchard

A 64-year-old man died in Sibu after a tree branch fell while he was cleaning a durian orchard.

The Borneo Post reported that the incident happened near Citizen Middle School, Sungai Spau, Jalan Stabau at about 11am today.
Sibu district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the man was working in the orchard with his son when a tree branch broke and struck him.
Police update
The victim suffered injuries to his head and shoulder. Medical personnel from Sibu Hospital pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said early findings classified the case as an accident. The weather at the time was reported to be good.
