古晋自主捷运（ART）服务拟以每15分钟一班的间隔运行，但这仍是规划中的服务频率，并不是乘客现在可以使用的正式时刻表。

砂总理阿邦佐哈里（Abang Johari Tun Openg）10月26日在砂拉越城市论坛上说，他已听取有关班次间隔的汇报。DayakDaily报道，他也谈到中央车站规划与砂拉越早年铁路历史的联系。

每15分钟一班，说明的是两班服务之间拟有多长等待时间；它不能单独回答首班车、末班车、每日营运时段、票价或载客启用日期。这次讲话没有公布这些乘车安排，通勤族不能据此把ART纳入已经可用的日常转乘行程。

阿邦佐哈里表示，拟议中央站地点与砂拉越首座火车站的历史有关，希望现代交通建设也保留城市原有的文化脉络。这项历史联系属于站点规划说明，并不表示车站已经建成开放。

Kuching’s planned Autonomous Rapid Transit service is being envisaged at 15-minute intervals, but that proposed frequency is not yet a passenger timetable.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said he had been briefed on the intended service frequency when speaking at the Sarawak Urban Forum in Kuching on Oct 26, according to DayakDaily.

For commuters, the distinction matters: an interval describes the intended gap between services. It does not by itself establish operating hours, the first and last departures, fares or a date when passengers can begin using the system. His remarks did not announce those details.

Abang Johari also linked the planned central station to Sarawak’s former railway heritage, saying the site had been the state’s first railway station. He presented that historical connection as part of integrating modern transport with the city’s identity.

The speech took place at Hikmah Exchange Event Centre. That is the forum venue, not a station address established by the report. The new information concerns service planning and the central station’s heritage rationale, rather than the start of public operations.

He described the Samarahan area as twice the size of London’s Hyde Park and said it would be planted with native tree species. The comparison was his description of the plan, not an announced surveyed acreage.

The state intends to gazette the land so future development does not encroach on it. This is a land-protection proposal, rather than an announcement that a new park has opened or that legal protection is already in force.

Abang Johari linked the need for public green space to smaller urban homes and families seeking places to spend time together. For residents, the consequential steps are the formal land designation and details of public access; his remarks did not set an opening date.

砂拉越警方已向武吉阿曼申请增加889名警官和警员，为即将举行的州选补足人手，同时保留警力维持日常治安。

Sarawak police have asked Bukit Aman for 889 additional officers and personnel for the coming state election, while keeping a separate contingent on regular policing duties.

Acting Sarawak Police Commissioner DCP Saifullizan Ishak said at an Oct 28 press conference in Kuching that the request had already been submitted. Reinforcements could come from Sabah, but he described that as a possibility rather than a confirmed deployment.

The request concerns the staffing needed to run election security alongside everyday public-safety work. Saifullizan said regular policing would continue; assigning personnel to the election does not mean all officers will leave their normal duties.

Police are also preparing logistics around the Northeast Monsoon. That places transport and deployment readiness alongside headcount in their election preparations, particularly for a state with widely dispersed communities.

The immediate next step is Bukit Aman’s arrangement of additional personnel. The request itself does not establish that Sabah reinforcements have been approved or have arrived.

In Kuching, a breakfast table does not have to choose between noodles and toast. Hon Hin Cafe puts both in the same morning: kolo mee for the person who wants a full bowl, a toasted sandwich and coffee for the companion who would rather start smaller. I would come here before setting off on a city walk, not squeeze it into a late-lunch plan.

Hon Hin describes itself as a traditional Nanyang coffee-and-noodle house. The useful distinction is how that identity works on the table: noodles and coffee are not separate outings, and toast is more than a fallback for someone who does not want mee. The sandwich brings toasted bread, egg and greens together, while the noodle plate combines char siew, minced pork and chopped spring onion. These are different breakfast routes within the same small coffee-shop setting.

The kolo mee has another detail worth noticing. Char siew oil is part of the noodle dressing, rather than char siew appearing only as sliced pork on top. I would ask about the dressing when ordering instead of assuming every plate will arrive equally red. A companion who wants a lighter start can keep to toast and a drink; ordering a noodle bowl as well is a choice, not an obligation.

Breakfast traffic is part of the Hon Hin experience too: there can be a queue, with an organized seating flow rather than a guaranteed walk-in table. Coming early is the practical choice if you have a timed outing afterwards. It is not a promise of immediate service, and I would leave a buffer rather than build a tight schedule around an empty table.

Public listings show a 5.30am start, a Thursday rest day and closing around 12.30pm on weekends or 1pm on other operating days. Confirm before a special trip. This is a pork-serving breakfast option, not a halal recommendation. For a first order, I would start with the kolo mee and coffee, then share a sandwich only if the table still has room. Check current prices and the day's available fillings at the counter.

峇都林当区原任议员施志豪（See Chee How）10月27日到砂人联党总部递交入党申请表格。随着申请正式提交，他的政治动向有了新进展，但这并不是人联党已宣布委派他守土的消息。

人联党表示，申请表格已在古晋总部移交，党领导人在场见证。DayakDaily及《星洲日报》均报道了这项递表行动；星洲也指出，他接下来是否获党委派继续竞选峇都林当，仍受到关注。

施志豪曾连续三届赢得该议席：2011年和2016年以公正党旗帜参选，2021年则代表砂团结党上阵。他在2022年8月退出砂团结党，之后以无党籍身份服务，直至本届州议会解散。

Batu Lintang incumbent See Chee How has submitted an application to join SUPP, moving beyond the speculation that followed his years as an independent representative.

SUPP said the form was handed over at its headquarters in Kuching on Oct 27, in the presence of party leaders. The confirmed development is the submission of a membership application; it is not an announcement that See has been selected to contest Batu Lintang at the coming state election.

See first won the constituency in 2011 under PKR and retained it in 2016. He secured a third term on a PSB ticket in 2021, then left PSB in August 2022 and served as an independent before the Assembly was dissolved.

That history gives the application particular significance for Batu Lintang voters: a representative who last won under one party and later sat independently is now seeking to enter SUPP, a component of the ruling Gabungan Parti Sarawak coalition. It does not, on its own, settle the constituency’s candidate lineup.

DayakDaily reported the party’s account of the handover, while Sin Chew Daily also reported the submission and noted the question of whether See would be fielded to defend the seat. Party membership and an election nomination remain separate matters; a formal candidate announcement is the next development for voters to follow.

砂拉越拟为学校及社区发展环保教育教材，把现有教育工作整合起来，让学生不只认识环境问题，也能把所学用于日常行动。

砂天然资源与环境局在10月27日于古晋帝宫酒店举行的环保教育大会开幕活动上，将这套教材列为大会的重要成果方向之一。DayakDaily报道，教材将强调内容容易取得、切合需要，并为后续环保教育发展提供指引。

讨论也特别提到乡区及偏远地区儿童，教育内容拟结合国际视野与本地环境知识。对学校和社区组织来说，重点在于如何把环保概念化为实际参与，而不是把这次倡议理解为已经新增一门必修科。

该局表示，1999年推出的PALS环保社团，参与学校已从最初74所增至1011所；目标是在2027年底前再登记455所学校。后一个数字是未来扩展目标，并非现有参与学校数。

目前可确认的是既有社团网络及教材发展方向；报道没有公布教材正式进入学校的时间表。学校后续可留意教材完成和推广安排，不能把这次大会上的规划当作已经全面实施的新课程。

Sarawak is developing the idea of a shared environmental education module for schools and communities, with an emphasis on putting lessons into practice rather than adding classroom knowledge alone.

At the Environmental Education Conference in Kuching on Oct 27, the proposed module was described as a way to bring existing education efforts together and make learning materials more accessible and relevant. DayakDaily reported that the Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak, or NREB, identified it as one of the conference’s key outcomes.

The proposal also calls for local environmental knowledge to sit alongside international perspectives. Rural and remote communities were specifically included in the discussion, so the intended audience is wider than schools in the main towns.

NREB said its Kelab Pencinta Alam Sekitar, known as PALS Club, had grown from 74 schools when introduced in 1999 to 1,011 schools. It is targeting another 455 schools for registration by the end of 2027. That is an expansion target, not a count of schools already enrolled.

The conference opening took place at Imperial Hotel Kuching. A common module remains a development proposal: the report did not set a school rollout date or describe a new compulsory subject. For schools and community groups, the concrete distinction is between the existing PALS network and the learning materials still being developed.

Sarawak has asked airlines and express bus operators to prepare additional services around the coming state election, but travellers still need to check operators’ confirmed schedules before booking.

The Ministry of Transport Sarawak said in an Oct 27 statement that it had written to operators to explore extra capacity for people returning to their registered constituencies. Bernama reported the statement on Wednesday morning.

For flights, the requested increase covers the week before polling day and the week after it, allowing for both the journey home and the return trip. For express buses within Sarawak, the ministry encouraged more departures from three days before polling until three days afterwards.

The two windows are different: the broader air-travel request is intended to help Sarawakians working in Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Sabah, while the bus request concerns onward and inter-town travel within Sarawak. These are requests to operators, not an announced package of guaranteed extra seats or fixed fares.

The ministry urged travellers to plan early and use operators’ official channels for schedules, prices and reservations. Anyone arranging a journey involving both a flight and a bus should check each leg against the services actually offered, rather than treating the proposed increase as a confirmed timetable.

美里SMK Chung Hua (CF) Miri的REFINITY队夺得2026年FIRST LEGO League马来西亚赛总冠军，十名队员获得代表马来西亚前往美国休斯敦参赛的机会。

Ten students from SMK Chung Hua (CF) Miri have earned the opportunity to represent Malaysia in Houston after Team REFINITY won the overall title at FIRST LEGO League Malaysia 2026.

The next destination is the FIRST LEGO League World Festival, part of the FIRST Championship 2027, scheduled for April 28 to May 1 in Houston, Texas. The result is a national championship and a place on the international stage, not a world title already won.

DayakDaily reported that the Malaysian competition was held on Oct 25 at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology in Kuala Lumpur. Organised by Sasbadi Holdings Berhad, its 17th edition brought together 920 young participants, including a team from Hong Kong.

This year’s UNEARTHED theme asked teams to tackle archaeology-related challenges through science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Work involved robot design and programming alongside scientific investigation and creative problem-solving.

For Sarawak’s school robotics community, REFINITY’s result also illustrates the breadth of the contest: communication, collaboration and critical thinking were assessed alongside technical performance. The Miri team was supported by a local coach and accompanying schoolteachers.

With the Malaysian title secured, preparation now turns to the 2027 World Festival. The national win establishes the opportunity to compete; it does not determine the outcome in Houston.

Fifteen mission schools in the Tarat constituency have received RM1.7 million under the Sarawak Mission Schools Fund 2026, with spending restricted to the purposes approved for each school.

The assistance is intended to improve educational facilities and meet learning needs. Cheques were presented at the Tarat Service Centre in Tapah on Saturday, according to The Borneo Post’s Oct 25 report, which cited the Sarawak Public Communication Unit.

Eight recipient schools fall under the Catholic Archdiocese of Kuching and seven under the Anglican Diocese of Kuching. These are the schools’ administering dioceses; the recipients identified in this funding round are in Tarat, not a list of schools in Kuching city.

The state education minister described the assistance as part of this year’s first phase, channelled through the Unit for Other Religions, or Unifor. He called on headmasters and school board chairpersons to manage the money transparently and ensure it directly benefits pupils.

For school communities, the cheque presentation marks funding reaching the recipient schools. It does not establish that repairs or new facilities have already been completed. The report did not give an individual school allocation breakdown or a works timetable.

10月25日的DB20 Premier Open决赛，Dragon Ark夺冠，沙巴PPNS Entulon居次。Dragon Ark也在DB12 Senior B组取得亚军，三个成绩属于不同组别，不能合并写成全场总冠军。

Penang’s Dragon Ark left Kuching with both the DB20 and DB12 Premier Open titles as the International Dragon Boat Regatta 2026 ended on Sunday, Oct 25.

The two wins came on the final day of the three-day competition on the Sarawak River. In the DB20 Premier Open final, Dragon Ark finished ahead of Sabah’s PPNS Entulon. The club also took second place in DB12 Senior B.

Those results describe three separate categories, rather than a single overall championship. The double Premier Open success was the main result from Dragon Ark’s final-day campaign at the Kuching regatta, according to The Borneo Post’s report from the races.

The club’s chairman and coach said members had fitted training around their jobs, often practising in the evenings. Preparation included sessions at sea to adapt to different water and weather conditions. Two members were competing for the first time.

For spectators who followed the races along the Kuching waterfront, Sunday’s finals brought the international dragon boat competition to a close. Dragon Ark’s next task, its coach said, was to strengthen training and develop further programmes as rival teams improved.
