19 岁男子 Melvin Dhillon Muluk 在石角失踪，警方呼吁公众提供线索。

Padawan 警区警方表示，Melvin 最后一次被看见是在 Bandar Baru Batu Kawa 的 Courtyard Santury Apartment，时间是 8 月 13 日傍晚 6 时 30 分左右。

Police are asking the public for help to locate 19-year-old Melvin Dhillon Muluk.

Padawan district police said Melvin was last seen at Block V 202, Courtyard Santury Apartment, Bandar Baru Batu Kawa, at about 6.30pm on Aug 13.

A missing-person report was lodged at Batu Kawa Police Station at about 11.53pm on Aug 15. Police said the clothing Melvin was wearing when he disappeared is unknown.

砂拉越新政党 Wawasan 宣布，准备参加下一届州选举。

Parti Wawasan Rakyat（Wawasan）主席 Affendi Jeman 证实，该党计划竞逐下一届砂拉越州选举。

Affendi 也确认，他有意代表 Wawasan 竞逐 Pantai Damai 州选区。

Wawasan 前身为 Parti Sedar Rakyat（Sedar），并于 2026 年 8 月 11 日正式获得社团注册局（RoS）注册。该党表示，未来会根据候选人的诚信、能力、基层支持度和服务社区的决心来评估人选。

New Sarawak party Wawasan says it will contest the coming state election.

Parti Wawasan Rakyat (Wawasan) president Affendi Jeman confirmed that the party plans to field candidates in the next Sarawak state election.

Affendi also said he intends to contest the Pantai Damai constituency under the Wawasan banner.

The party, formerly known as Parti Sedar Rakyat (Sedar), was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies on Aug 11, 2026. It says candidates will be assessed based on integrity, capability, grassroots support and commitment to their communities.

Wawasan is also studying the wider electoral picture, including the proposed 17 additional state seats. No final commitment has been made because the boundaries and implementation are not settled yet.

古晋山都望一名28岁男子殴打16岁妹妹，被判坐牢11个月。

A 28-year-old man has been jailed for 11 months after assaulting his younger sister in Santubong.

The man pleaded guilty at the Kuching Court Complex to voluntarily causing hurt to a family member. The offence happened on June 28 after his 16-year-old sister did not respond when he asked her to buy a lighter.

The court heard that he kicked her waist and punched her forehead. A medical assessment recorded soft-tissue injuries. He was arrested on Aug 13.

The charge was filed under Section 323 of the Penal Code, read with Section 326A, which applies when the victim is a family member.

这个地方好看的点，不只是“桥很美”而已。它有一点老古晋回忆，又有一点新夜景的感觉。原本的 Satok 吊桥是 1920 年代建起来的，早期主要跟跨河供水设施有关。后来旧桥在 2004 年风雨中倒塌，重建后的版本变成行人桥。现在加上 LED 灯，晚上看起来就不只是过河 shortcut，而是一个小小的夜景点。

我这次综合看了几个来源的评价：

DayakDaily 的长文讲了很多本地人的回忆。以前学生、上班的人、做小生意的人、附近居民，很多人的日常都会经过这座桥。读起来最有感觉的是，大家讲它不像在讲一座普通桥，而是在讲古晋的一段记忆。

KuchingBorneo 把它当成古晋其中一个新的夜景 attraction，尤其装了灯之后，社交媒体上的反应明显更热。它也给到很实用的资料：这里免费、在 Satok 一带很好找，而且可以顺便搭 Satok / Kubah Ria 附近吃东西或走市场。

Airial 汇总的评价是 4.3 分、497 条 reviews。里面大家重复提到的点很一致：RGB 彩灯漂亮、夕阳景色好、晚上有风、适合散步/jogging、拍照角度多。缺点也要老实讲：weekend 会多人，而且这里比较像短暂停留的景点，不是那种可以玩半天的地方。

Kuching Then and Now / FB 群里的公开贴也一直出现类似评价：大家喜欢在这里拍 sunset、彩色天空，还有那种老古晋的 nostalgia。有一个 snippet 还特别讲，桥被夕阳剪影照到时很美，也蛮受情侣欢迎。

我的看法很简单：不要中午去晒。傍晚或吃完晚餐后去最好。白天可以拍结构，晚上才是它真正好看的时候，灯光倒在河面上，古晋那种慢慢来的城市感就出来了。带外地朋友的话，可以排在 Waterfront、Satok 吃东西之后，当作轻松收尾。

周六晚的暴风雨，把古晋 N6 Metrocity 2 青年夜市吹到一片狼藉，夜市被迫关闭。

约300个摊位中，超过40个受到严重影响。雨棚被吹走或吹毁，主舞台、管理办公室和电线也遭到破坏。

摊贩估计，单是一个雨棚的损失就达到 RM2,000 至 RM5,000，还不包括炉具、饮水桶和货物等损坏。气象局当晚曾针对古晋、实文然、三马拉汉等砂拉越地区，发出傍晚5时至9时的雷暴警报。

雨停后，倒树、松脱屋顶、积水和受损电缆仍可能造成危险。居民应避开受影响道路，把损坏情况交由市政局或紧急单位处理，不要为了拍照进入现场。

More than 40 stalls were badly affected after a storm hit Kuching’s N6 Metrocity 2 Youth Night Market.

Strong winds tore through the N6 Metrocity 2 Youth Night Market in Kuching on Saturday night, forcing the market to close.

More than 40 of about 300 trader lots were badly affected. Canopies were blown away or wrecked, while the main stage, management office and electricity supply cables were also damaged.

Traders estimate losses of RM2,000 to RM5,000 for a canopy alone, not counting damaged equipment and goods. The Meteorological Department had issued a thunderstorm warning from 5pm to 9pm for Kuching and several other parts of Sarawak that evening.

The danger does not end when the rain stops: fallen trees, loose roofing, flooded roads and damaged cables can remain hazardous. Residents should avoid affected routes and report damage to the council or emergency services rather than entering the area to take photos.

A 67-year-old Kuching man has been fined RM6,000 after threatening to shoot a shop owner.

Saidi Abang Samsudin pleaded guilty to criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code at the Kuching Court Complex on Aug 17. He will serve 12 months in jail if he fails to pay the fine.

The incident happened at an eatery on Jalan Wan Alwi on Dec 22, 2023, during the grand opening of a neighbouring shop. The man was upset by loud firecrackers and ash entering the eatery.

Court facts said he called the female shop owner over, showed her an object believed to be a pistol and said, “Saya rasa nak tembak ja u” — “I feel like shooting you.” Police later seized a Springfield XDS 9mm pistol, a magazine and five rounds of ammunition.

Sejingkat桥最快10月1日通车，有望缓解古晋交通。

砂拉越副总理兼基础设施及港口发展部长拿督阿玛道格拉斯·乌加今日（8月17日）视察桥梁最后接缝工程后说，承包商目前没有面对重大人手或资金问题，工程在天气良好下进展顺利。

这座横跨砂拉越河、全长1,281.2米的双车道桥梁，连接Sejingkat和Tanjung Bako。通车后，来自西连（Serian）和哥打三马拉汉（Kota Samarahan）的车辆，可更直接前往Demak Laut、Petra Jaya及附近工业区，不必再绕进古晋市中心，预计能分散部分交通。

项目造价约RM3亿6574万，原定完工日期仍是2026年10月22日。

Sejingkat Bridge Could Open To Traffic By Oct 1, Easing Kuching Congestion.

The RM365.74 million bridge across the Sarawak River could open to traffic as early as Oct 1, after Deputy Premier and Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas inspected the final stitching works on Aug 17.

The 1,281.2-metre dual-carriageway bridge will give motorists from Serian and Kota Samarahan a more direct route towards Demak Laut, Petra Jaya and nearby industrial areas, without passing through Kuching city centre. That is expected to ease congestion in the city.

The contractor reported no major manpower or funding problems. The project’s scheduled completion date remains Oct 22, 2026.
