Biawak关卡提升纳入边境研究 年底完成后再评估落实

Biawak边境关卡的提升建议，已纳入砂拉越边境地区发展总蓝图研究；研究预计在2026年年底完成，之后才进一步评估哪些工程分阶段落实。
10月15日州议会答复交代，研究不仅涉及移民、关税、检疫及安全综合大厦，也涵盖Biawak一带的基建改善和社会经济发展建议。
项目须在研究结果出炉后，按需要、优先次序及准备程度筛选，并视拨款与相关批准推进。因此，这次答复交代的是规划进度，尚未定出关卡提升工程的开工日期。
对经Biawak通关的居民与商家，设施日后会如何改变，仍要看下一阶段选定的实际工程，现阶段不能把研究完成期限当作新设施启用时间。
另有一项已获批的300万令吉计划，在包括Biawak在内的五处边境地点建设纪念地标，目前处于最终设计阶段。这笔地标工程拨款，与整个关卡提升是两回事。
