马鲁帝垃圾填埋场火灾波及约 0.7 公顷，灭火工作预计在 8 月 24 日继续。
火势星期日下午从垃圾堆起火。马鲁帝消拯局在下午 2 点 26 分接到投报，派出 5 名人员和 1 辆 CFRT 消防车到场。消拯员使用两条水管线、泡沫和呼吸器材灭火，并先开辟防火隔离带，避免火势继续扩散。
灭火行动在傍晚 6 点 30 分暂停。当时，估计 0.7 公顷的起火范围还没有完全扑灭。地方政府计划在 8 月 24 日使用挖土机和水槽车继续处理；行动暂停时，挖土机操作员仍在马鲁帝以外地区。
目前还没有确认后续复工后的最终情况。住在垃圾场附近的居民应避开烟雾，不要让孩子靠近现场，并遵守地方政府或消拯人员的指示。如果吸入烟雾后出现呼吸不适，应尽快求医。
