浮罗岸州议员杨薇讳说，砂拉越需要更强的反对党监督政府。
杨薇讳在古晋举行的行动党砂拉越成立60周年筹款晚宴上说，反对党应该质问政府决定、监督公共开支，并在政策影响人民时发声。
她形容，如果GPS既当球员又当裁判，州议会就需要反对党来制衡，确保政府决策有人检视。
杨薇讳也质问政府使用瑞士VistaJet执行官方航班的安排，并提出砂拉越自动捷运（ART）工程的影响。她把浮罗岸部分地区出现水压低和黄水的问题，与工程施工联系起来，作为需要加强监督的例子。
