砂拉越人口估计达到254万，但地广人少和老龄化问题越来越明显。

DayakDaily 引述马来西亚统计局最新人口估算报道，砂拉越2026年人口约 254万人，年增长率只有 0.4%。
以人口数量来看，砂拉越排在全国第五，前面是雪兰莪、柔佛、沙巴和霹雳。
重点不只是人数
重点在于人口密度和年龄结构。
砂拉越每平方公里只有 20人，是全国人口密度最低的地区。65岁及以上人口占 9.7%，在全国排第二高。
砂拉越人的年龄中位数也升到 33.2岁，总生育率则是每名女性 1.5名孩子。
