古晋旧邮政局有机会翻新重生，但重点是保留古迹味道。

砂总理拿督巴丁宜丹斯里阿邦佐哈里说，这栋建筑可以翻新，但必须保留原有的历史价值和建筑特色。
重点整理
- 旧邮政局目前仍属联邦政府，所以砂政府要先完成洽谈。
- 翻新方向不是拆掉重建，而是保留原建筑再活化。
- 他也点名 哈芝达哈路（Jalan Haji Taha）一带的 Darul Kurnia，以及万福路（Ban Hock Road），有一些古迹建筑可考虑翻新。
- 私人业主若要改造旧建筑，政府欢迎，但不能破坏受保护的核心结构。
阿邦佐哈里也提到，新加坡富丽敦酒店（Fullerton Hotel）和吉隆坡苏丹阿都沙末大厦（Sultan Abdul Samad Building），都是旧建筑活化的例子。
