美里获东盟洁净城市奖后 卫生问题被点出

美里刚拿下东盟洁净旅游城市奖，但城市卫生问题又被摆上台面。
《The Borneo Post》走访美里多个公共与商业区后发现，情况有好有坏。有些地方维持得不错，但也有地区出现垃圾桶满溢、杂草过高、沟渠堵塞、积水和异味等问题。
市议会怎么回应
美里市议会市议员 Kelvin Chia 指出，卫生问题不是单一方面造成，牵涉承包商、商家、居民和市议会本身。他透露，已有 3个住宅区维修承包商 因表现不佳被终止合约。
食物垃圾也是一大挑战。美里每年产生约 8万吨垃圾，当中约 40% 是食物垃圾。市议会也确认了 13个非法倒垃圾热点，目前已清理其中4个。
市议员 Leslie Lau Ik Chie 也提到，部分旧商业区的沟渠已经老化，面对现在的发展密度和更强降雨，排水能力明显吃紧。
