砂城市供水覆盖逾99% 乡区72%仍有明显落差

砂拉越城市供水覆盖率已超过99%，乡区则为72%。两者仍有明显落差，不能只看全砂基建开支，就认为每个乡区家庭已经获得同样的供水条件。
砂副总理道格拉斯（Douglas Uggah Embas）10月21日在砂州议会部门总结时公布有关数字。《DayakDaily》报道，受供水压力地区水网计划总投资约40亿令吉，截至今年9月已支出32亿3100万令吉。
他也提到，另有10亿8500万令吉用于老旧水管更换，已更换长度为237.68公里。水管更新进度与供水覆盖率属于不同指标：换了多少公里水管，并不能直接说明哪些未覆盖村落已经接上供水。
同一份总结还列出乡区电气化计划进展，全砂电力覆盖率为99.7%，乡区为99.3%；截至今年第三季，有关计划已支出21亿7800万令吉。乡区供电接近全面覆盖，并不等于供水也已达到相同水平。
对仍等待改善供水的家庭，72%是整体覆盖指标，不是个别住家的接驳日期，也不是全天不断水的保证。这次数字更新未列出逐村补足供水覆盖的时间表。
