杨薇讳倡砂设水供赔偿制度 资格与时限须明订

砂拉越是否应为水供服务订下明确标准，并在未达标准时赔偿用户，成为州议会预算辩论中的一项建议。朋岭州议员杨薇讳（Violet Yong）主张研究适合本地的制度，列明赔偿资格、处理方式及付款时限。
《婆罗洲邮报》10月15日报道，杨薇讳是在辩论2027年砂预算案时提出这项主张。她认为，处理水管损坏不能只看修管费用，也应研究受影响商家的经济损失如何获得补偿。
对古晋家庭及商家而言，现阶段须分清政策建议与已经开放的索偿计划。这次发言不是宣布新赔偿制度生效，也没有公布每宗赔偿金额、停水多久才符合资格，或向哪里提出申请。
她建议把服务标准、资格及付款时间表写清楚，再按砂拉越实际需要制定安排。未来若有制度推出，这些条件将决定哪些情况可以索偿；目前不能仅凭这项建议，把停水后的赔偿视为已经获批。
