诗巫一名5岁男童去世，砂拉越福利机构将援助家属。
警方于8月28日（周五）下午约1时45分接获一宗涉及男童的投报。警方指男童相信颈部受伤，被送往诗巫医院后，最终在急诊部宣告不治。
一名49岁、据警方资料为男童叔父的男子，已被延扣至9月4日，以协助根据刑事法典第302条文展开谋杀案调查。延扣和调查本身不代表定罪，案件经过及任何法庭结果仍有待厘清。
负责妇女、幼儿及社区福祉事务的州政府部门已指示社会福利局、幼儿发展组和社会发展理事会跟进，为家属提供心理社会及福利援助。
当局也呼吁公众不要转发未经证实的照片或说法，让调查继续进行，并顾及家属感受。
