Storm damage repairs are under way at Kuching International Airport.
Malaysia Airports said the affected section of the terminal’s external ceiling structure, near the arrival area, has been secured while workers carry out repairs. Airport operations are continuing as normal.
The damage followed strong winds and heavy rain across Kuching on Aug 25. Trees also fell in Kuching and Samarahan. At Tabuan Dayak, roofing sheets and structural frames blown from an apartment block struck nearby houses; local coverage reported no injuries.
There is no indication of a flight suspension in the latest update. Passengers using KIA should check their airline’s notice before leaving and allow a little extra time around the terminal while the work continues.
