砂拉越将主办2029年伊斯兰团结运动会，预计迎来57个伊斯兰合作组织成员国。
主赛区预计设在古晋，部分项目是否延伸至实文然仍待研究。砂拉越已取得主办权并签署相关协议，但比赛项目和完整预算尚未敲定。
《诗华日报》报道，主办成本可能高于明年的东运会；《婆罗洲邮报》引述初步估算，金额约为4亿至4亿5000万令吉，相比东运会的3亿5000万令吉拨款更高。对古晋而言，接下来应关注场馆升级、交通安排和住宿容量，而不是把目前的成本估算当成最终账单。有关估算仍不是最终拨款，主办方日后还需公布比赛项目、场馆分布及交通配套，居民也可据此判断赛事对市区人流和公共设施的实际影响。
