Kuching Waterfront road closures begin October 13, ahead of regatta

The first Kuching Waterfront road closure starts on October 13, ten days before the regatta and waterfront festival begin.
Kuching district police say the road from Jalan Gambier to Jalan Main Bazaar will close from 8am on October 13 until midnight on November 4 for tent assembly and dismantling. The traffic restriction therefore lasts beyond the October 23–November 1 festival period and affects trips through the area even on non-event days.
Additional closures for the October 23 opening ceremonies run from 7am to 6pm. They cover Lebuh Wayang to Jalan Main Bazaar, Lebuh Temple to Lebuh Wayang, the St Mary traffic-light junction towards Lebuh Wayang, and the Jalan Pearl junction towards Jalan Wawasan.
On October 31, a separate 6pm–11pm closure for Festival Gendang covers the Lebuh Java junction and routes from Jalan Market to Jalan Gambier, Jalan Courthouse to Jalan Main Bazaar, Jalan Gambier to Jalan Main Bazaar, and Jalan Barrack to Jalan Courthouse. These are timed restrictions, not a notice that every listed road closes for the entire three-week period.
