My practical read: start with the regular Mee Kolok at about RM8.60, then add meat or noodles only if you are genuinely hungry. For a first order, ask for Mee Kolok and choose the regular portion. In Kuching, the name usually means springy noodles served relatively dry with savoury seasoning, rather than a soupy bowl.
