The government has officially gazetted a 10-year passport option — and here is what it costs.\n\nThe Fees (Passports and Visas) (Amendment) Order 2026 was published in the Government Gazette on June 3, clearing the way for Malaysian passports with a validity period of up to 10 years.\n\nCurrently, a standard passport costs RM200 for five years. Under the new scheme:\n\n- 10-year passport: RM350\n- Senior citizens (60+): RM175\n- OKU (disabled) holders 18+: Free\n- Immigration Dept staff: Free\n\n
\n\nLost your passport? Here is what you will pay for a 10-year replacement:\n\n- Aged 18–59: RM550 (1st), RM850 (2nd), RM1,350 (3rd+)\n- Aged 60+: RM375 (1st), RM675 (2nd), RM1,175 (3rd+)\n- OKU 18+: RM200 (1st), RM500 (2nd), RM1,000 (3rd+)\n\nImmigration Director-General Datuk Zakaria Shaaban confirmed the implementation date will be announced soon. The current 5-year passport (RM200) will still remain available as an option.\n\n\n\n
