State Deputy Minister Datuk Michael Tiang said the collapse was highly unusual — the first of its kind in Sibu's 100-year history.

He committed to funding infrastructure works around the site, including drainage and car park, while the owners handle demolition. He's also approached banks about soft loan packages for the owners.
