DayakDaily reported that the leaked Election Commission proposal includes new or renamed seats across Sarawak. In the Kuching and nearby areas, names listed include Tabuan Jaya, Maong, Matang, Semarak, Pasir Pandak, Samarindah and Sungai Serin.

The document is dated June 25, 2026 and is linked to Sarawak's Seventh Redelineation Exercise.
